As one of the most highly anticipated conventions in the animation and gaming realm, J1-Con is renowned as the longest-running convention fully owned by Black organizers in the US. Originally held in Philadelphia, it has now moved to Atlantic City's soaring Showboat Hotel and boasts an eclectic range of fandom activities. This event celebrates geek pop culture in all its diverse and dynamic forms, attracting cosplayers, artists, vendors, musical acts, and families in abundance.

J1-Con kicks off November 3rd, 2023, with an All Ages Cosplay Prom Party, an opportunity to show off their handcrafted costumes. The convention unfolds over three days, featuring a vibrant vendor floor where you can pick up both mainstream and indie comic books, art pieces, and geeky merchandise. It hosts a range of immersive panels exploring intricate aspects of animation, gaming, comic books, music, and more. No convention would be complete without a spirited cosplay contest, all building up to an exclusive 18+ after-party. Despite the emphasis on fun and celebration, J1-Con takes public safety seriously. While attendees are not required to show proof of vaccination or wear masks, both are strongly encouraged in adherence to CDC guidelines.
