Shinichiro Watanabe
Shinichiro Watanabe is a Japanese anime director. You are very likely to know almost all of his anime works. He is best known for directing the critically acclaimed and incredibly successful anime series Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Space Dandy. Watanabe is known for incorporating multiple genres into his anime creations, such as cowboy western in Cowboy Bebop. He has been the director of Kids on the Slope, Space Dandy, Terror in Resonance, as well as Cowboy Bebop, Carole & Tuesday, and Samurai Champloo.
Watanabe, born in the ancient city of Kyoto, started his work with Japanese animation studio Sunrise as he oversaw storyboards of several Sunrise shows, and soon after made his directing debut with Macross Plus. After Cowboy Bebop and the sequel movie Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door he even went on to develop some American-produced anime including A Detective Story and Kid’s Story.
