Valhallacon 2016

Started by Columbia's Cosplayers in 2014, Valhallacon is scheduled to have its third annual event on July 9-10 2016 in Columbia, SC. Our celebrity guests include the voice actors Grant George and Jessica Gee-George, who will do four panel workshops and two autograph sessions. We have two dances on Saturday night: A Labyrinth-themed formal ball and a glow stick party. Sunday afternoon has 2 1/2 hours of foam sword fighting hosted by Palmetto Knights. Plus many panels, workshops, dealer room, artist alley, and gaming room. Our signature event is Cosplay Hnefatafl (Viking chess). Entrance theme music plays as the teams walk to the board, like in professional wrestling. When a piece needs to be removed, we play battle music while the pieces engage in mock combat to "kill" the one that's being removed. That is how we play chess.
