11th- Annual Teen Comic Convention 2017

Some of the world’s most famous comic, anime and action heroes will be in attendance, at least in costume, during the 11th-Annual Young At Art Teen Comic Convention on Friday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Young At Art Museum, 751 S.W. 121 Ave. in Davie. During Young At Art’s 11th Annual Teen Comic Convention, sponsored by BrightStar Credit Union, teen comic artreprenuers will display and sell their colorful cartoon artwork, Emmy Award-winning cartoonist Rob Cabrera will host a demonstration from 1:30 to 2 p.m., Comic Painter Fer Sucre will demonstrate and discuss his work, video gaming stations will encourage gamers to play everything from Star Wars Battlefront on PS4 and Mindcraft on X-Box360 and students will vie for prizes during the timed Quick Draw Contest. Among the other festivities planned throughout the day are a family friendly Cosplay Fashion Show, art demonstrations, digital film screenings and vendor stations. In addition, on Tuesday, July 11 at 11 a.m., the public is invited to a museum workshop to learn about the phenomena of Fandom Culture and Costume Play, otherwise known as Cosplay. Visitors will learn how to create their own cosplay costume inspired by official Teen Cosplayers. The workshop is free with paid admission.
