Ohayocon has previously been considered the best of the best among anime conventions, but a massive staff resignation and calls for a boycott lead Ohayocon 2024 to feel incredibly lackluster in comparison to previous years. Attendance felt sparse, and attendees are unsure if the event will ever return to its previous heights.

After labor strikes and complicates last year, Ohayocon is a returning anime convention held annually in Columbus, Ohio, at the Hyatt Regency Columbus and the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
