Comic-Con International: San Diego 2014

Comic-Con International: San Diego is categorized as a huge multimedia expo, which may include significant elements from many different genres. Even if the event is named or considered a "comic con" or "sci-fi con", it still has so many elements from popular culture, TV, and the media that it is hard to consider it just one type of convention. Major expos like this tend to have big named guests signing autographs all weekend, a big exhibit hall filled with endless rows and rows of vendors, artists, and creators.

Attending a major pop culture convention can be tough, as tickets are sometimes expensive or hard to come by and hotel rooms often sell out early. Some people plan an entire year in advance in order to be able to attend. Parking in major cities for these events is also often expensive. All of this can be worthwhile for those individuals who want to spend the entire day or entire weekend browsing countless exhibitors and meeting special guests.

People attending specifically to meet one special guest or attend just one event will want to arrive as early as possible, as quite a few others may be attending for the same reason and it may be difficult to get a good spot in line if arriving late. Most people attending a large multimedia expo spend the majority of their time in the exhibit halls shopping.
